Leading By Example
The most challenging thing in building a successful organization, offers the greatest reward.
The challenge is the change that needs to take place in a person, the change from doing what everyone around us expects us to do. Making the change from being what everyone expects, to living the way we truly want to live.
We succeed or fail based on our decision to take the journey, to walk our talk, and in so doing, we inspire the best in others.
People who are successful at building a successful Young Living business made the choice long before their success came. They chose to be successful and healthy come what may. Whatever it takes is what it will be.
Our ability to influence others is based on our choices. We can eat, think and act like everyone else but it comes with a price. We must accept the consequences of those choices.
Choosing to be a leader, we choose everything that comes with that choice. We will see people come and go, we will see people come on board excited at first and then shrink from the challenge. We will see people say negative things about what we're doing or what we know to be true. A true leader will learn to suffer all these "slings and arrows of outrageous fortune" and still continue on.

A Picture's Worth 1000 Words
The picture above will help you set your dial of expectation. Everyone who's ever succeeded at building a successful organization has gone through this process.
In order to win financial and time freedom we must understand and fall in love with our company, the products, our dreams and in what we're doing. The most successful people feel it's their calling to influence people and to share the truths of their products, leadership truths, and to help people.
Notice in the picture where we can expect to be in the first 1-2 years, with a small car pushing up hill by ourself with maximum effort and little results. This is where we're building a foundation learning our company, the products, opportunity, how to share and bringing people on who are beginning the same process.
The second phase, shown in the picture, the person has an upgrade representing an increased organization, a good check and at the crest of the hill. At this point there's less effort. At this point there will be others going through the same process of growth, health and sharing that you went through in the beginning and it is affecting your income.
Finally, by the third and final vehicle, the person reaches critical mass. They have helped to train enough people to duplicate their efforts and to believe in their own dreams so that now their organization has a life of it's own growing and growing.
The process is similar to growing lavender for it's comforting oil. After the pain staking process of growing an alfalfa bumper crop for the nitrogen it brings to the soil, the bumper crop is tilled in 3 feet deep. The workers plant the lavender seeds in small pots in the greenhouse. From this point on it takes 3 years until lavender is ready to distill, but once it's to this point the lavender plants keep giving and giving and giving.
Set your expectation, feeling and vision inline with these examples and you will be one of the success stories. One of the reasons people discontinue early on with the opportunity is because they don't understand this process. They give up while the lavender is still a half inch tall in the greenhouse.
